Tourism management couple

Time frame: Full time
Start Date: Immediately 

The Trust is looking for a permanent Tourism Management Couple. This is a full-time position based at the Trust headquarters at Wasa Lodge in the Kasanka National Park. The Managers would report to the Trust’s General Manager and must be keen to grow Kasanka’s tourism business.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Higher education degree or diploma in travel and tourism or similar subjects (or experience that implies the same level of education or knowledge)
  • At least 5 year’s work experience in hotel/lodge management
  • At least 5 year’s work experience in infrastructure development (building, electrics, plumbing)
  • Good knowledge of managing staff, guests and activities simultaneously
  • IT software: Proficiency with the mainstream software of Microsoft Office
  • Language: Excellent written and spoken English, spoken Bemba advantageous

Optional but Desired Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Practical experience in managing a hotel/lodge in remote African areas
  • Hands-on approach to maintenance of infrastructure
  • Be out-going with great interpersonal skills
  • Have strong organisational and planning skills
  • Have an eye for detail and creativity, for creating a warm and welcoming lodge environment
  • Be resourceful and adaptable in this remote destination

Important Additional Requirements: 

  • Willingness to live in a remote area with limited access to amenities
  • Willingness to work in a team and to carry out supporting duties outside of the normal job description as and when requested by management to ensure effective operations
